Flatlander Half Marathon & YP5K

Join us in Great Bend, Kansas for the 3rd Annual Flatlander Half Marathon & YP5K (Previously YP5K and Half Marathon) on Saturday, October 21. 

The races will start and finish at Jack Kilby Square in downtown Great Bend, and both will utilize a professionally chipped timing system provided by Oz Endurance. 

Each participant receives a race T-shirt, a swag bag of goodies from our sponsors, a complimentary breakfast, along with free finish line photos published on our Facebook page after the event. Cost is $30 per 5K participant or $60 per half marathon participant. Prices increase to $35 and $70 respectively after October 1. T-shirt sizes are not guaranteed after the earlybird deadline. Proceeds will be used to sponsor fitness and wellness initiatives in Barton County. Post your race photos using the hashtag#YP5K on social media!

HALF MARATHON - 13.1 Miles
Take tour of the Great Bend community on our flat race route with diverse scenery, which incorporates two City parks, our hike and bike trail and Great Bend's beautiful tree-lined residential streets - all on flat terrain with well-coordinated hydration stations. 

Ample restroom facilities are made available at the starting line and at the park pavilion. Awards will be presented to the top male and top female finishers in five age groups (13 to 18, 19 to 25, 26 to 35, 36 to 49, 50 and Over). All half marathon finishers will receive a medal. This course is USATF certified.

#YP5K - 3.11 Miles
Join us at Jack Kilby Square for a scenic route through Great Bend that includes Brit Spaugh Park and well-marked residential areas. Medals will be awarded to the top three male and female finishers in six age groups (12 and Under, 13 to 18, 19 to 25, 26 to 35, 36 to 49, 50 and Over).

8:30 a.m. Family Fun Zone Opens
9:30 a.m. 5K Award Ceremony
10:45 a.m. Half Marathon Award Ceremony
